New-York, December 15, 2022 : The New-York based Committee to Protect Journalists has said that four journalists from IIOJK along with three Indian journalists have been jailed, which continues to remain at a record high for the second consecutive year since CPJ began its prison census in 1992. According to CPJ’s 2022 prison census, India continues to draw criticism over its treatment of the media, in particular its use of draconian Public Safety Act to keep Kashmiri journalists Aasif Sultan, Fahad Shah and Sajad Gul behind bars after they were granted court-ordered bail in separate cases. human rights news

Evidence against activist Stan Swamy was planted by Indian police: US paper

 New Delhi, December 15: The Washington Post has said that the evidence against a Jharkhand-based Jesuit priest and activist Stan Swamy, who died in police custody, was planted by the Indian police. A new digital forensics report has found that multiple incriminating documents were planted on the laptop of activist Stan Swamy, who was arrested for  fake militialinks in 2020  by Indian agencies and who died in custody a year later 2021.

One person found hanging with tree in Srinagar

Srinagar, November 18 : An unidentified man was found hanging with a tree in Srinagar district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir An unknown man, believed to be of Gujjar community, was found hanging with a tree in Al-Maroof Colony of the district. A police officer confirmed the incident and said some locals of the area spotted the body of the man and accordingly informed the police.
