Indian Americans Protest Sonal Shah’s Appointment as The Texas Tribune CEO

WASHINGTON, DC ,November 2, 2022:  The Indian American Muslim Council (IAMC), the largest advocacy organisation for Indian American Muslims, strongly condemned the appointment of Sonal Shah as chief executive officer (CEO) of The Texas Tribune. The council urged The Texas Tribune to rescind the appointment. 

Muslim Youth Beaten to Death in Muzaffarpur Indian state Bihar

Muzaffarpur, November 3: A Muslim youth was beaten to death at Chhat Ghat in Mahartha village of the  Indian state Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on Sunday.

CPJ urges India to stop harassing employees of The Wire

 New York, November 02 : The New York-based media watchdog, Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has urged the Indian authorities to stop harassing employees of the Indian news website, The Wire, and let them work freely. The CPJ in a statement posted on its website said, on Monday, officials with the Delhi police crime branch searched the New Delhi office of The Wire and the residences of editors Siddharth Vardarajan, M.K. Venu, Siddharth Bhatia, and Jahanavi Sen, and seized their electronic devices, according to various news reports and Vardarajan, who spoke to CPJ over phone.

Twitter bans over 54000 accounts in India

 New Delhi, November 02 : More than 52,141 Twitter accounts were banned in India between August 26 and September 25 this year for promoting child sexual exploitation, non-consensual nudity, and other political and social reasons.

Srinagar, October 20 : Indian forces martyred one youth in custody in Shopian district inIndian illegally occupied Jammu and KashmirThe youth Imran Bashir was arrested by the troops during a cordon and search operation on Tuesday after a grenade blast in which two Indian laborers were killed in Hermain area of the district. The troops then took him to Nowgam area of the district and killed him in a fake encounter.. The killing of the youth is a glaring example of how Indian Army and paramilitary personnel are brutally crushing the Kashmiris’ ongoing freedom struggle.

Global Body Condemns Move to Stop Kashmiri journalist From Leaving India; ‘We are closely tracking reports of Kashmiri journalist being prevented from travelling to US’: State Dept

Washington, October 20: The United States is aware of reports of Pulitzer-winning Kashmiri journalist Sanna Irshad Mattoo being prevented from travelling to the country, a State Department official has said. Mattoo had on Tuesday said she was stopped at the Indra Gandhi International Airport in Delhi from flying to the US to receive the prestigious award.

Indian film actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son deliberately targeted in drug case, says inquiry report

New Delhi, October 20 : In what proven to be a deliberate attempt by the anti-Muslim Modi government to target prominent community members, a Special Investigation Team (SIT)of the Narcotics Control Bureau has detected lapses into the probe against Aryan Khan, the son of megastar Shah Rukh Khan, in the cruiser drugs case and found at least 8 officers with Hindutva connection involved in it.
