Srinagar, April 11: Despite orders from a chief judicial magistrate, the Sopore police is refusing to file a First Information Report (FIR) in the death of 16-year-old Zubair-ul-Hassan Bhat who drowned while being chased by violent police and paramilitary forces during last year’s unrest, the victim’s father said.
Despite the court orders, the police are refusing to register a case in the incident, which took place on April 13, a year ago.

Srinagar, April 10:  A 21 year old student Sajad Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rehman Dar resident of Kralteng area of Sopore was killed in Sopore town on Sunday evening. The victim student of a poor family was a resident of Kralteng Gassi Mohalla.

Srinagar, April 8, 2011: Prominent political and religious figure and President of Jamiat-e-Ahl-e-Hadees (JAH), Maulana  Showkat Ahmad Shah, was today killed in a low intensity Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast outside a Masjid in Maisuma locality of Srinagar.
