February 1, 2018New Delhi: The India's National Investigation Agency (NIA ) on Thursday told a Delhi court that a freelance photo-journalist, arrested last year for alleged stone-pelting and other cases in Kashmir Valley opposed the bail application of Kamran Yusuf before Additional Sessions Judge Tarun Sherawat, claiming the allegations levelled against him were “serious”.

Srinagar, January 18 ,2017: People held a protest against the rape and murder of an 8-year-old young girl in Kathua district of Jammu region. The girl Asifa Bano, who had gone missing a week ago, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Hiranagar tehsil of Hindu-dominated district.

Srinagar, January 02 , 2018: People staged protests against the beating up of teachers by Indian troops inside a government-run school  in Hajin area of Bandipora district. The troops barged into a a government-run coaching centre and thrashed the staff including the headmaster. As the news spread, anti-India protests erupted on the streets followed by shutdown in the town.

Srinagar, April 17, 2014 : Unidentified gunmen killed a 45 year old Muhammad Amin Pandith in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on late Thursday evening.
Police claimed that suspected gunmen fired upon Muhammad Amin Pandith (45)son of Abdul Ahad Pandith of Gulzarpora outside his residence in Awantipora area.
“Amin was moved to nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” he said. 

(New York, January 17, 2014) – Indian authorities in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh should immediately stop evicting people from camps who fled communal violence in September 2013, Human Rights Watch said today. State authorities should conclude their investigations into riot-related crimes, including alleged sexual violence, and initiate appropriate prosecutions.
