Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh’ s body found in Naira Tahab in Pulwama

Srinagar, May 23 , 2019: The bullet-riddled dead body of a civilian, Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh (25) son of Ghulam Ahmad Sheikh, was recovered in Naira-Tahab area of Pulwama district, today. The victim was a brother of prominent freedom activist, Irfan Ahmed Sheikh.As per local reports, Zahoor was abducted and killed by the Indian armed agents.. Locals told that the bullet ridden body of  Zahoor  Ahmad Sheikh 

Pellet victims want ban on the use of pellet guns in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 20, 2019 : A protest demonstration was held by  Pellet Victims Welfare Trust at press club in Srinagar, today, demanding ban on the use of pellet guns in Kashmir.

Pellet Victims including a 20-month-old Hiba, under the banner of pellet victim’s welfare trust (PVWT) on Monday, protested against the continuous usage of pellet guns by forces and demanded the immediate ban, at press colony.Pellet Victims on Monday staged a protest demonstration in Srinagar demanding a ban on the use of pellet guns in Kashmir on Monday, PVWT addressing the media, while seeking an immediate ban of pellet shotguns said that the continuous use of pellet guns will only render more youth blind, and so far, at least 230 fresh pellet-shot gun-related injuries were recorded in 2018.

UNHRC demands from India details on Kashmir killings, torture

Geneva, May 20, 2019: Three special rapporteurs of the United Nations Human Rights Council in a letter to the Indian government have demanded details on steps taken to punish or provide justice to victims and their next of kin in 76 cases of torture and arbitrary killing in Jammu and Kashmir since 1990.

Srinagar, May 20, 2019: The Jammu Kashmir Coalition of Civil Society and the Association of Parents of Disappeared Persons while releasing a comprehensive report on human rights violations by India have urged the United Nations to establish a commission of inquiry to investigate the brutal torture inflicted by Indian forces in Jammu and Kashmir .

Vandalism of Indian forces of in Budgam

Srinagar, MAY 20,2019: Indian police used brute force and vandalized properties of people during crackdown and arrested a dozen youth at Daharmuna in Budgam district. 
Indian forces raided the area in the night and tried to enter into some houses to arrest youths. However, the residents raised alarm, following which the villagers came out and staged protest.
The locals said the Indian forces resorted to vandalism and smashed private vehicles and windowpanes of several houses.

Jammu blast: Death toll mounts to two, 32-year-old Mohammad Riyaz succumbs injuries

Jammu,  Mar 8 2019: The death toll in yesterday's grenade blast at Jammu bus stand mounted to two on Friday after a Kashmir resident succumbed at a hospital. A 32-year-old Mohd Riyaz, a resident of Mattan area of  Islamabad (Anantnag) district, who was injured in the blast at the General bus stand, succumbed at a hospital early Friday , said an official.
A 17-year-old youthMohammad Sharik, son of Intezar, a resident of Indian state Uttarakhand was killed in the blast on Thursday, with 33 others injured.

Kashmir shuts to safeguard Article 35 A

 
Srinagar, August 5: A complete shutdown is being observed on Sunday across Kashmir to protest against the attempts to abrogate Indian constitutions Article 35 A.
All the business establishments, government, and private offices are closed, while transport remained off the roads.
Reports said that contingents of Indian paramilitary forces have been deployed in Srinagar and other areas of the valley.
Meanwhile, train services have been suspended by authorities across Kashmir, keeping in view of the shutdown call.

Son of father battling cancer detained under black law PSA

Srinagar, July 29: A 40-year-old activist of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Bashir Ahmad Malik from Uranhall village of Bijbehara Tehsil  whose father is suffering from cancer, has been booked under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Kathua jail in Jammu.
The detained Bashir Ahmad Malik is working a small time contractor, was arrested by the police three months back on charges of holding peaceful protest demonstrations.
