Srinagar, November 13, 2019: A shopkeeper was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.Reports said that during cordon and search operation the unknown gunmen fired upon a shopkeeper identified as Meiraj-ud-din, leaving him injured critically , however, he succumbed his injuries on the way when he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The cordon and search operation in the area was going on while further details are awaited.
Meanwhile, four persons were killed and five others injured in a road accident in Kishtwar district on Wednesday.
Reports said that the accident occurred when a passenger vehicle bearing registration number JK 17- 6479 carrying pilgrims from Palmar to the Sarthal temple, skidded off the road and rolled down into a deep gorge. They said that soon after the accident, Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to a district hospital in Kishtwar, where doctors declared four of them brought dead.Three critically injured people were shifted to the Government Medical College Jammu through a chopper for specialised treatment.Police have taken the cognizance of the incident, he said.
