Srinagar, July 9, 2014 : In Srinagar, the authorities banned a lecture by a internationally acclaimed author, researcher and scholar, a US-based academician Prof Mridu Ray, which she was supposed to deliver in Grand Mumtaz hotel on Moulana Azad Road in Srinagar.

Srinagar, June 10, 2014: KISHTWAR: The family members of a 12-year-old victim  ( a 5th standard student )have said that they were stopped at gunpoint by members of the Village Defence Committee (VDC) from filing a police complaint after a 15 year girl was abducted and raped by VDCs.  
A teenage girl was allegedly gang-raped by identified as Suhdharshan Kumar, son of Karam Chand, and Nitin Kumar, son of Saroop Chand. Both of them belong to Joshan Drabshalla village, the  members of the notorious Village Defence Committee (VDC), a local media men reported.

While displaying his bruised body, Muhammad Afsar Khan, the father of seven daughters told CNS that from past one year Indian armys 46 Rashtriya Rifles F-Company Captain Balihan aka Major Saleem aka Gabar Singh is after him and compelling him to act as his informer.

Srinagar, 19 May : A seven-year-old girl Simran Reyaz was killed and two other including her brother  Fayaz Ahmed Parrey, 5- year lost his legs  after the Indian Army's leftover shell went off at Drang area of Tosa Maidan in Badgam.
The Indian Army's leftover shell went off at Drang area of Tosamaidan in Budgam district killed 7-year-old girl Simran and injured two others when they were playing outside her school during lunchtime. Fayaz has lost both of his legs and has been rushed to a hospital in Srinagar

Srinagar, 24 MAY 2014: Farooq Ahmad Shiekh, father of a victim Zahid Farooq has said that he was being pressurised by the senior officials to withdraw the court case wherein he is seeking punishment against the persons involved in his son’s killing.

Srinagar, May, 18  2014: Unidentified gunmen in an inhuman act had tied a 24-year old college student Abid Dar son Ghulam Nabi Dar to a tree trunk before shooting him in his head from a point blank range during the intervening night at Tarzoo in Sopore. Police said he was final year student of Govt Degree College Sopore identified as Abid Nabi Dar son of Ghulam Nabi.

JAMMU, Jan 11, 2014: A Special Police Officer (SPO) was arrested and disengaged for indulging in eve teasing in district Doda.  Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda Mohammad Sharief Chouhan told that an SPO namely Anoop Kumar, son of Sat Pal Sharma of Barshallah Thathri, posted at Gandoh was found indulged in eve-teasing at Pul-Doda.
