Srinagar, January 02 , 2018: People staged protests against the beating up of teachers by Indian troops inside a government-run school in Hajin area of Bandipora district. The troops barged into a a government-run coaching centre and thrashed the staff including the headmaster. As the news spread, anti-India protests erupted on the streets followed by shutdown in the town.
“We were busy teaching when Indian army men without any provocation barged inside and started abusing and beating us. Even the in-charge headmaster was also beaten,” said a teacher, wishing anonymity.
On the other hand, Indian troops launched massive cordon and search operations in dozens of areas of Shopian district. They besieged the villages and conducted house-to-house search operations.

Meanwhile, India will construct 14,460 bunkers in Kashmir along the Line of Control and Working Boundary during the year 2018.
Rs 41.573 million would be sanctioned for construction of 14,460 bunkers.
