HR violations increased in last 3 years, Indian Government must end the repression of rights in occupied Jammu and Kashmir: Amnesty report

Srinagar, September 02, 2022 :Amnesty International, has said that Narendra Modi-led Indian government intensified the repression of human rights in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir during the last three years since it revoked the special status of the territory on August 05, 2019. The Amnesty International in a report released, today, said that journalists, lawyers and human rights defenders in IIOJK were facing increasingly harsh and repressive measures by the Indian government. It said that at least 27 journalists had been arrested since August 5, 2019, with several of them, including Fahad Shah, Aasif Sultan and Sajad Gul were rearrested after court ordered their release and booked under draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Aakar Patel, chair of the board of Amnesty International India, in a statement said for three years now, civil society and media in Jammu and Kashmir have been subjected to a vicious crackdown by the Indian government, which is determined to stifle dissent using draconian laws, policies and unlawful practices in their arsenal. The Amnesty International called upon the Indian government to immediately release all those arbitrarily detained. It also urged the international community to hold the Indian government accountable for its grave human rights violations in IIOJK.  

Iconic Leader Syed Ali Gilani ,a Symbol Of Resistance

 By Raies Mir:The top APHC leader and the icon of Kashmir freedom movement, Syed Ali Gilani, embraced martyrdom while in detention at his residence in Srinagar on 01 September 2021 at the age of 92. He was symbol of valor, courage and resistance against oppression and subjugation throughout his life.  Syed Ali Gilani, who had already been suffering from multiple ailments, remained under house arrest from 2010 till his death. This prolonged house detention took heavy toll on his health.  Syed Ali Gilani was born in Zurmunz in Bandipore on 29 September 1929. He was educated at Sopore, and finished his studies at the Oriental College, Lahore (Pakistan). He remained associated with Jamaat-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir for most part of his life but later founded his own party, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir. He led the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) until late June 2020 quitting the pro-freedom amalgam due to his worsening health condition. He was elected to the Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 1972, 1977 and 1987.

August 30, 2022: Yashwant Shinde filed an affidavit, on Tuesday, in the Nanded court that he was a witness to the bomb blast training. The RSS functionary, in the affidavit, said that RSS is detonating all the bombs in India.  “In 1999, while the applicant was in indian state Maharashtra, Indresh Kumar told him to get hold of some boys having fighting spirit and take them to Jammu in IIOJK where they would be trained in the use of modern weapons. For selecting the boys for the purpose there was a state-level meeting of VHP in Thane (Maharashtra). In that meeting the applicant got introduce to one Himanshu Panse of Nanded. 

Indian troops martyr three Kashmiri youth including an engineering student in Shopian

Srinagar, August 30, 2022 : Indian army and paramilitary forces martyred three Kashmiri youth including an engineering student in Shopian district.The Indian army's Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force during cordon and search operation martyred  Danish Khursheed Bhat, Tanveer Wani & Tawseef Bhat in a fake encounter on Tuesday afternoon in Nagbal area of the Shopian district of south Kashmir. 
 

37-year-old man found dead in Dooru Islamabad, Youth goes missing in Bijbehara

 Srinagar, August 29, 2022: A 37-year-old man was found dead under mysterious conditions near a bridge in Changoo area of Dooru in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Monday morning. Some people saw body of a man identified as Mohammad Saleem Kully son of Gull Mohammad of Changoo lying near Changoo Bridge. 

26 booked in UP for holding mass gathering to offer nimaz at home

MORADABAD (UP, India),August 29,2022: The  Indian state Utter Perdash’s Moradabad police have booked 26  Muslims for  offering  prayers (namaz) in a house. Superintendent of Police (rural), Moradabad, Sandeep Kumar Meena, said, “Scores of people assembled at the house of two local villagers in Dulhepur village in Chhajlet area what he calimed without any notice and offered prayers. They had been cautioned in the past not to indulge in such a practice at home, following objections from neighbours belonging to another community.”

 New Delhi, August 29, 2022: A bench headed by new Chief Justice of India  (CJI) U U Lalit will hear the bail plea of Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan, a petition of prominent Indian activist Gautam Navlakha and some important PILs on, today, Monday, his first working day in the Supreme Court as the CJI. Justice Lalit was sworn in as the 49th Chief Justice of India on Saturday, a non-working day in the Supreme Court.

Indian paramilitary trooper commits suicide in Indian state Jharkhand

Chakradharpur, August 29:  An Indian Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) trooper  committed suicide  in Indian state Jharkhand. The CRPF 60 Battalion trooper Ajit Kumar Pathak shot himself dead from his service AK-47 assault rifle at Chakradharpur city of the state. He shot himself in the forehead and died immediately.

Indian police arrest three Kashmiri youth in Bomai Sopore

 Srinagar, August 28  : Indian police have arrested three innocent Kashmiri youth in  Bomai Sopore of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.The youth identified as Shariq Ashraf, Saqlain Mushtaq and Tawfeeq Hassan Sheikh were arrested from a joint check-post set up by Indian  army and paramilitary personnel at Bomai Chowk in Sopore area of Baramulla district.
