Srinagar, Thursday, April 24, 2014: As suspected gunmen attacked Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) party when it was coming back along with polling staff at Nagabal in Shopian this evening, one of the polling official who was critically injured in the attack succumbed to his injuries.

Indian trooper molest a young girl, booked on rape charge

Sringar, April  22, 2014: Indian Army man misbehaved  and molested a 19-year-old girl in Rajouri district.
The police has booked an Indian Army man and his elder brother on the charge of rape and cheating   a 19-year-old girl hailing from Kalal Kas village in Rajouri district.

Protests against arrest of civilians in Sopore, Shopian

Srinagar, April 22: People staged protests against the arrest and atrocities of Indian armed forces in Sopore town. The protesters said that police raided number of residences during night and arrested at least 15 youngsters.
Police used brute force and fired bullets at Main Chowk when protesters raised anti-India slogans and demanded release of the youth. 

Body of missing person fished out from Jehlum in Baramulla

Srinagar, April 22, 2014: Police fished out a body of a missing person from river Jehlum in Baramulla, a police statement said on Tuesday. The statement said that Baramulla Police fished out a body from river Jehlum near Jety crossing, in Baramulla. The body was later identified as Anoop Singh son of Kulwant Singh resident of Shalpora, Rafiabad at present Jety Baramulla. The deceased was missing since April 10, 2014. Police has started investigation to ascertain the cause of the death.

Kashmir violence leaves three more people dead in Pulwama

Srinagar, April 22, 2014: Unidentified gunmen have killed three persons in two separate attacks in Pulwama district.
The unknown gunmen shot at and killed Muhammad Anwar Khanday, Ghulam Nabi Mir and his son, Firdous Ahmad Mir (24-year old), in Tral area of the district.

Muhammad Amin Pandith killed in Awantipore

Srinagar, April 17, 2014 : Unidentified gunmen killed a 45 year old Muhammad Amin Pandith in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on late Thursday evening.
Police claimed that suspected gunmen fired upon Muhammad Amin Pandith (45)son of Abdul Ahad Pandith of Gulzarpora outside his residence in Awantipora area.
“Amin was moved to nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” he said.

Senior police officer thrashes tortured 11-year-old girl inside police station in Kashmir

Srinagar, 01 April 2014:  A police officer molested and thrashed a minor girl inside a police station in Uri town of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir.  An 11-year-old girl was assaulted by a senior police official in north Kashmir’s Uri town. The village head (Sarpanch) of Bijhama, Abdul Hamid, said the station house officer (SHO) of Bijhama police station Boniyar area of Uri town, a report said called a 5th standard girl student to police station in connection with a family feud. 

Anti-AFSPA rally held at Jantar Mantar New Delhi,demands repealing the draconian law

New Delhi, March 31 : An anti-AFSPA rally was jointly organized by Sharmila Solidarity Campaign, AISA, AIPWA, RYA, DSF, JNUSU, NEFIS, Voices against 377, NAPM and Right to water campaign, from Mandi House metro station to Jantar Mantar. It was organized as a part of an effort to create a political pressure for repeal of AFSPA in this election season.
