Srinagar, July 28, 2011: A 27-year-old Muhammad Ashraf Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad of ChanKhan Sopore who got engaged last week with the dream to solemnize his marriage in near future, in Sopore was killed by unidentified gunmen. Unidentified gunmen barged into the house of Muhammad Ashraf Dar and fired at Dar on Wednesday night before fleeing under the cover of darkness. This is second killing of civilian in the last five days in the area.
Srinagar, July 21, 2011: A 30-year-old married tribeswoman Rukaya Banoo wife of Muhammad Lateef Bhat of Gujjardhar Manzgam was abducted by the Indian army personnel and gang raped her at Manzigam in Damhal Hanjipora in Kulgam district. "The woman had gone to fetch water in Manzigam when Indian army troopers abducted her on Monday. Today she returned back saying that she was picked up by the group of Indian army and gang raped her," the protestor told media men. The protestors also raised anti-India and pro-liberation slogans.

Sopore, July 24, 2011 : A civilian was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Sopore. Unidentified gunmen appeared in Kralteng areas of Sopore around 9 pm and opened at least five rounds from point blank range on a man identified as Mohsin Ahmad Wani, 35, son of Manzoor Wani of Jalalabad, Sopore. He was shot in the head, abdomen and shoulder by the assailants suffered serious injuries in the attack. He was rushed to the nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The slain is said to be a shopkeeper. After the attack, the gunmen fled from the spot.

Eyewitnesses said a girl student of Yatipora village of Pattan in Baramulla district was on way to her school when an Army man intercepted her near Hyderbeg and tried to molest her. The girl, eyewitnesses said raised an alarm before escaping from the clutches of the trooper.

Srinagar, July 10, 2011: Two teenage boys were killed and two others including a minor girl were injured seriously when a shell that was collected from the gun-battle site in south Kashmir's Pulwama exploded inside their house. The deceased have been identified as Obaid Yusuf Lone, 13 and Adil Ahamd Teli, 17, both hailing from Hajan village in Rajpora where a fierce gun-battle had raged between government forces and militants of Friday evening. Sources said the boys had found the live shell near the gun-battle site in the afternoon and had brought it home.
