Draconian PSA detainees can now be jailed outside Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, July 31 , 2018: In yet another move against the political detainees, Governor Rule has removed a legal provision that prohibited the shifting and lodging of Kashmiri state subject residents detained under draconian law, Public Safety Act, in jails outside Jammu and Kashmir.
The State Administrative Council (SAC) headed by Governor NN Vohra has cleared the proposal to delete the provision in the black law PSA to make way for sending the Kashmiri political detainees to prisons in India far away from their families.

Son of father battling cancer detained under black law PSA

Srinagar, July 29: A 40-year-old activist of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Bashir Ahmad Malik from Uranhall village of Bijbehara Tehsil  whose father is suffering from cancer, has been booked under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) and shifted to Kathua jail in Jammu.
The detained Bashir Ahmad Malik is working a small time contractor, was arrested by the police three months back on charges of holding peaceful protest demonstrations.

3-year-old Wasif Qayoom crushed to death in old city

Srinagar: A minor was killed after being hit by a vehicle in old city on Monday.Police has identified the boy as 3-year-old Wasif Qayoom who was walking along with his uncle when a school bus hit him near Shiraz Chowk. Indian Forces launch CASO in Pulwama

JULY 29, 2018 Srinagar: Indian Forces on Sunday launched a cordon and search operation in Tiken village in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Reports said that the Joint team of Indian army, CRPF, and Special Operation Group Pulwama launched a joint search operation after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area. They added that a large number of troops have been deployed in the area and door to door search operation has started in the area.
A search operation was underway till the filing of this report.
