Srinagar, January 16, 2012: A number of Kashmiri students studying in Indian state Madhya Pradesh (MP) have said that they were being harassed by Indian police and asked to get credentials verified by the Jammu and Kashmir police. The students studying in some colleges and universities of in Indian state MP have reported to their parents that the local Indian cops are harassing them without any provocation. The students have said that they are either called or taken to police station and being questioned.
Srinagar, January 12: The witnesses in the 12th class student of Boniyar killing case has that the Indian Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel opened fire on people without any provocation.
A student Altaf Ahmad Sood was killed in the CISF firing and two others were injured when CISF forces fired on people protesting against frequent power cuts sparking large-scale protests in Uri area of Baramulla on January 2.
New Delhi, January 11, 2012: The succession war for the Indian Army Chief’s post is getting murkier. Lt General Bikram Singh, the top contender for the post of next Army Chief of India is hit by killing of civilian in Kashmir Valley. The Eastern Army Commander Lieutenant General Bikram Singh is involved in a decade-old fake encounter case. In March 2001, the Indian army had claimed to kill a militant in a shootout in Kashmir. Lieutenant General Bikram Singh was then the Brigadier heading the 5- Sector Rashtriya Rifles unit headquartered in Islamabad.
Srinagar, January 7, 2011: A civilian, thirty-year-old shopkeeper was killed and three civilians were injured in Sopore town on Saturday when Special Operations Group (SOG), escort of Superintendent of Police (SP) and Central Reserve Police Force fired in the town. The victim was identified as, Meraj-ud-Din Hajam, 30, son of Ghulam Ahmad a resident of Shahgund Sumbal Hajim in Bandipora. Father of two kids, Mehrajuddin was running a shop in main market of the town.
He was running a embroidery shop for last five years, the local said.
Srinagar, January 04; 2012 : Acting on a writ petition involving custodial disappearance of a young man from Buchwara Dalgate, the High Court of occupied Kashmir has directed the authorities to implement the recommendations of Human Rights Commission within four weeks. The Commission has called for awarding compensation and granting benefits to the victim family.

New Delhi, Jan 2, 2012: The Human Rights Commission of India has asked Indian Home Secretary and the Defence Secretary to probe all aspects of unmarked graves in three districts of north Kashmir.
The Human Rights Commission was moved by rights activist Radhakanta Tripathy saying that cold blooded murders were not reported by the authorities and that the family members were totally kept in dark over this.
Srinagar, December 31, 2011: Body of Mohammad Ishaq Wani son of Mohammad Yousuf resident of Nillow, Kulgam was recovered from village Pumbay, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Damhal Hanjipora, Kulgam in suspicious circumstance, said a police spokesman.
The body of the deceased was handed over to legal heirs for last rites. Police has registered a case and has taken up investigations, the spokesman added. The youth is reportedly to be missing.
Srinagar, December 27, 2011: A victim family has approached to the High Court for compensation and registration of an FIR against the Indian troopers who killed the father of two sons in Pampore area.
Srinagar, December 27, 2011: The residents of Tukri Batanoor in Tral area of Pulwama district staged a protest demonstration against the beating of half a dozen youth by the personnel of Special Operations Group during a crackdown operation.
According to reports, the SOG personnel cordoned off the village on December 26 night and arrested half a dozen youth during house-to-house searches. The forces beat the youth to the pulp and released them half dead following strong protests by villagers. The injured youth were shifted to hospital for treatment.
