New Delhi, November 8, 2013 : Amnesty International India has urged the Government of India to repeal the draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act and grant full reparation to victims of human rights violations committed by government forces.

High Court in Srinagar orders probe into Kashmiri youth’s disappearance by Police officer

Srinagar, November 05, 2013 :The High Court has directed police to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to be headed by a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) to investigate the disappearance of a youth, Showkat Ahmad Paul, in Indian army custody from Lawaypora in Srinagar in 2003.
The youth’s family insists that Showkat Ahmad Paul disappeared in army custody.

Kashmir: Voice of Victims reveals the presence of another 130 unidentified graves in Bandipore

Srinagar, 24 October 2013 : A human rights forum, the Voice of Victims, in a report has revealed the presence of around 130 unidentified bodies in two graveyards of Sumbal area of Sonawari. The report said that twenty of these bodies were mutilated while some graves contained more than one body.

Minor girl gang-rapped by Indian troops in Rajouri, Kashmir

RAJOURI, Oct 12, 2013:  A 15-year-old girl was  gang-rapped by two Indian troopers and at village Pannad in Darhal area of  Rajouri district. The girl was kidnapped and taken to an isolated place where  she was disgraced.

Indian army’s shelling on LoC killed 2-year boy, injured five others

Muzaffarabad, October 04, 2013: Indian army during shelling on the area of Line of Control killed a  two year child and injured five other civilians in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
"A two-year-old boy who was injurdin shelling by Indian troops has died at hospital, while five other injured persons in Kotli district are still under treatment," Masood-ur-Rehman, local administration official, told AFP. He said that three women and two men were also injured in the shelling in village of Rud Karthar on the Line of Control in Kotli district. . Media reports

Men in uniform abducts’ molested woman in Kokernag

 
Srinagar, Saturday, 05 October 2013:  Indian troops abducted a 35-year-old woman, who was at her father's home in Zalgam Kokernag,in Islamabad (Anantnag)  was abducted by an men in uniform and taken to nearby forests.
The survivor, who is a mother of three children, said: "At 1:00 AM on Saturday late night, I came out in the compound of my father's house. Suddenly, men in army uniform, appeared and whisked me away. I tried to shout, but I couldn't. They took me to the jungle," the woman, who was not in a position to speak in detail, said.
