NEW DELHI , September 23 : The United Nations’ Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) in its annual report, has termed the arrest of Safoora Zargarand Christian James Michel by Indian authorities as arbitrary. The report in respect to Safoora Zargar stated, “Several human rights defenders were detained under vague and overly broad national security and anti-terrorism provisions, giving the authorities wide discretion to criminalise their peaceful activities.”
Srinagar, Sept 22, 2021: A youth was injured in Indian troops firing at Azad Gunj area of Baramulla district of IIOJK on Wednesday.Reports said that youth identified as Mohsin Solih of Iqbal Colony Baramulla was injured in firing by Indian forces. A top police official of the district told mediamen that a youth was injured in a firing incident by an Indian army party at Azad Gunj. The injured youth has been identified as Mohsin Solih, reported said.Authorities at GMC Baramulla said the youth has suffered an injury in his leg. He is stable, they said.

New Delhi, September 22 , 2021 : A woman from Kyrgyzstan and her one-year-old son were found murdered at a house in Indian capital New Delhi. The 28-old Kyrgyzstan woman, Myskal Zhumabaeva, and her son Manas were found lying dead on the bed with stab injuries on chest and other body parts in southeast Delhi’s Kalkaji area. A case of murder has been registered in connection with the incident, Indian police claimed, adding that further investigation is underway to nab the culprit and ascertain the motive behind the killing.
September 21, 2021: In India, a student of Visva-Bharati University (VBU) in West Bengal has alleged that an upper-caste professor refused to interact with him and called him ”impure”. The police have filed an FIR against the professor on the basis of a complaint submitted by the student who is identified as Somnath Sow.Sow told PTI news agency that he came across professor Sumit Basu at a tea stall in Syambati area of Santiniketan. It was at that time, Basu “called me a Dalit and said he did not want to talk to me”, Sow said.
Koppal (Karnataka), Sep 22, 2021: The parents of a Dalit boy were fined Rs 23,000 after the two-year-old entered a Hanuman temple at Miyapura village near Hanumasagar in Koppal district of southern Indian state Karnataka. The toddler was taken to the temple by his father on his birthday. As members of the Dalit community here are unofficially not allowed inside the temples, they always pray from outside.
