Srinagar-January 13, 2021: With the death of two more women due to heart attack in the past 24 hours in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the death toll from the cardiovascular decease has risen to 15 in the past about two weeks in the Kashmir valley. The experts have warned increase in the cardiac arrest cases during winter due to severe cold in case precautionary measures are not taken.
Official sources said on Wednesday that a woman Mubeena (30) suffered a massive heart attack at her Sumbal in Bandipora district. However, other family members immediately rushed her to hospital where she was declared brought dead. They said another woman identified as Dilshada (40) also suffered a heart attack at her Naugam Chadoora house in Badgam district and she was was declared dead in hospital. Three persons, including a sarpanch and a private school teacher, died due to cardiac arrest in the valley on January 10.
With these deaths, a total of 15 persons, mostly youth, died due to cardiac arrest in the valley during the past about two weeks. The doctors and other experts have already advised people suffering from heart ailment to take extra precaution in winter, when chances of sudden heart attacks increases due to severe cold. The Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) president Dr Nissar ul Hassan and other experts have warned increase in the heart attacks in the valley during winter due to severe cold. However, they expressed concern over the increase in the heart attacks among the youth.
A teenage girl allegedly died by suicide in her residence in Digiana area in the outskirts of the Jammu city on Tuesday. Police said Pooja Devi, 18, hanged herself inside a hutment this morning in Digiana area.“As per preliminary investigation, the girl reportedly had a love affair and wanted to marry as per her wishes,” police added.

Tension erupted in Talwara area of Reasi after locals strongly protested against Indian forces of IRP personnel at Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) Talwara who were trying to capture their land by illegal means. The anguished locals assembled at the main road, burnt tyres and blocked the road leading to Talwara. The protesters shouted slogans against IRP personnel posted at STC Talwara. A brick- batting and clash like situation took place when some IRP personnel allegedly hurled stones towards the protesting locals, who retaliated in response. Several persons were injured in the incident.
The students of Government Degree PG College Bhaderwah and Government Degree College Doda held protest demanding postponement of the examinations scheduled from January 22, 2021. The students of Government Degree College Doda staged a protest in front of the DC Office Doda.They also demanded postponement of exams.They warned to intensify their protest, if their demands are not redressed.
The Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress staged a strong protest demonstration in front of the Bharatiya Janata Party office in Jammu, by banging utensils to wake the Narendra Modi-led Government in India which is not able to see the deaths of farmers who have been protesting against the three farm laws for more than 2 months now. The protesters were beating Thallis and Dhol even as they raised slogans like ‘Kisaan Virodhi, Narendra Modi!’ and ‘Kisaan Ekta Zindabad!’.
The protesters said that the BJP has been sleeping over the death of at least 57 farmers who sacrificed their lives in the protests going on at multiple borders to the national capital for the past two and a half months. “This government is sleeping over the biggest protest in the history of India.
In Srinagar, several persons held a protest demonstration against the Kashmir Crown Trust for not providing a wheelchair to a handicapped person who has been seeking it from the Trust for the past two years. Local youths from Srinagar assembled at press enclave and chanted slogans against the Kashmir Crown Trust and demanded that the the KCT should be banned. The trust is run by Shahid Imran, who claims to be a “journalist” and owns Kashmir Crown, a news portal.
One of the protesting youths said that Imran was running the trust on donations given by people of Kashmir valley. “Why has he not provided the wheelchair to the handicapped person from Kupwara district?” the youth asked.
“We are donating the money directly to the owner of the trust, Shahid Imran. So, he should help the needy people,” he said.
Another protesting youth said that the handicapped person, Riyaz Ahmad from Bonipora Kupwara, had contacted them to complain that he was not provided with the wheelchair.
The protests were also held in different areas of the territory against the Indian authorities due to local necessities .
The analysts talking to media men said that the after August 5, 2019 abrogation of article 370/ 35A people of Kashmir are facing huge loss in business, agriculture, transport,education and lack of medicare is now is big alarming to the people of Kashmir in all towns, cities and other far-flung areas.
The state which is directly under military and police rule and continued cordon and search operations of Indian forces turned Kashmir into hell and more tense and fear, adding people are living under fear and miserable conditions . The analysts said that government of India has also snatched all rights of Kashmir and depriving them from their own rights and even property while the continued ban on high speed internet services is another problem which damaged Kashmiris education and economy. sources
