Raipure, May 23: Two Indian Central Reserve Police Force's jungle warfare unit CoBRA commandos were injured in an attack in Indian disturbed state Chhattisgarh.
The two Indian paramilitary commandos were injured by Naxalite guerrillas when the joint team of the District Reserve Guard and the CRPF's Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) launched a search operation between Pusnar and Hiroli villages under Gangaloor police station limits in Bijapur district of the state, police said.
Two to three Naxalite guerrillas were also injured in the gun fight which took place in Bijapur, located around 400 km from the state capital Raipur, they said.
Constables Nakul and Mohammad Shahid, belonging to CoBRA's 202nd battalion, suffered injuries on their hands and legs in the face-off, the official said.They were were shifted to the Bijapur district hospital and their condition was stated to be out of danger, he said.
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old woman was shot at by a Bihar Police constable in Munger hours before her marriage was scheduled, police said.
The incident took place when the victim had gone to a beauty parlour for bridal make-up at Naya Bazar under the Kotwali police station.
The accused constable, Aman Kumar also reached there and shot at her. The bullet hit the left shoulder from behind and exited from the right side of the chest. The accused himself tried to shoot himself as well but failed.Another woman, who was working in the parlour, tried to catch him but she failed. The accused overpowered her and fled from the spot.
