Guwahati, March 27 : Three persons of Indian state Assam went missing in Indian state Tamil Nadu and in Assam.
Searching for good jobs outside the state of Assam has turned into a nightmare these days amid back to back missing cases being reported. The shocking incident has also come to the fore where two persons from Assam’s Tinsukia went missing after they went to Indian state Kerela in search of a good job placement.
The two persons identified as Juna Aao (39) and Sonu Tanti (40), were the residents of Gakherbheti village under the Talap police outpost in Doomdooma.
According to the details of the incident, both the youths boarded a train to Kerala on March 18. But soon after reaching Tamil Nadu state, Juna Aao reportedly fell unconscious inside the train. Looking into his health condition, Sonu Tanti called up Juna Aao’s family and informed about his condition. Hours later, Sonu said that Juna Aao lost his mental balance and was behaving insanely. During this time, Juna got off at a station (name unknown) somewhere in Tamil Nadu before they could reach their destination and disappeared.
“Sonu continued to travel on the same train, when he contacted his family and said that some unidentified Tamil speaking people approached him and started to thrash him with rods and sticks. Sonu’s mobile then got switched off,” said a family member of Sonu Tanti to the media.
Things took a turn for the worse after a photo of Sonu Tanti's mutilated body was shared with family members via an unknown number on WhatsApp.
“We received a photo of Sonu's mutilated body shared from an unknown number, the person called us and spoke in Tamil. We were unable to determine what he was trying to say. The same photo has been shared with others in our village. I think they already have the phone book that Sonu was carrying with him," the relative added.
Meanwhile, the another Dibrugarh district of Assam identified as Jintu Chetia has been reported missing since March 22 after leaving his home to meet with someone about a possible job interview in Dibrugarh city.
It is quiet shocking to learn that the youth’s mobile phone was found switched off after he uploaded a mobile status on his WhatsApp saying, “I will miss everyone”.
Meanwhile, the parents of the youth are suspecting that he might have joined liberation organisation United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent (ULFA-I).
Notably, there were several reports earlier where youths from the Assam state were suspected to join the liberation organization United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent (ULFA-I), due to their demand and other various reasons of atrocities.
The United Liberation Front of Assam-Independent (Ulfa-I), core demand is of sovereignty of Assam, for which it has been fighting for the past 42-years.
"Historically Assam was never part of India. Assam was a nation beaming with pride and sovereignty, which was later colonised by foreign invaders. This is legitimate and a historically correct fact, which needs to be brought into limelight. The 42-years old struggle for Independence is still continuing to restore Asom to its former glory. In addition, the sovereignty of Asom will never be compromised in the year to come," Ulfa-I Chief, Paresh Baruah said in a statement.
The statement came a day after Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the dialogue process with Ulfa-I must be taken forward by striking a balance between the outfit's "core demand" for sovereignty and the ambit of the Constitution.
Thousands people of Assam have been killed by the Indian forces during military and search operations.
