Several Srinagar areas still subjected to mobile internet shutdown, Indian troops launch CASO in Pulwama

Srinagar, February 21 : Mobile internet service  continued being suspended in many areas of   Srinagar city in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In many localities like Rainawari, Safa Kadal, Nowhatta and other area in Srinagar people are still without the mobile internet services at about 3pm in the afternoon and later the services are resumed after 9pm.More than four months have passed since mobile internet started being suspended and people  mostly business community and students facing problems. “The shutdown is mostly of Airtel and Vodafone (Vi) services. Sometimes Jio services work, but largely they remain affected,” said Ishafaq Ahmad, a resident of Rainawari in Srinagar.

This began to happen in October 2021 while police first did mass seizure of two-wheelers in Srinagar, and then shut down the internet during the day hours, twice a day. Later, many areas were taken off the list of the internet shutdown, but still many remain.
The internet services, initially, remained suspended in the area from 7am to 11am and then from 3pm till 10pm on a regular basis. Now they are shut for more than six hours at one stretch.

The forces during house to house searches fired several bullet shot which added harassment in the area. The operation was going on in the area, till last reports came in.
The Bhartiya Janta Party Corporator was taken into custody by police  after he stolen Scorpion having registration and engine number different in Udhampur .The BJP Corporator named Nazeer Ahmed Gilkar was taken into custody by police for driving stolen Scorpion having registration and engine number different, during the checking it was found by traffic police that the scorpio run by the corporator is stolen one as the documents were incomplete. A vehicle has been stolen and the corporator is taken into custody and is being questioned at police station Udhampur saidDSP Himmat Singh .
In Srinagar, parents and students staged a protest against the merging of a private school against their will in Srinagar. The school in question is ‘Orbit Girls School’ located in Peerbagh Srinagar that according to parents has been merged with ‘World Foundation School’ without taking them into confidence.
 The protesters raised slogans against the school administration and concerned authorities.
“We received a WhatsApp message from the Principal of the ‘Orbit Girls School’ on 17 December. We thought parents have been called over ‘fee row’ but to our shock, we were informed that this school has been merged with another school. The school administration took this unilateral decision after collecting fee from all students,” one of the protesters  told media men.
 “We are against this merging and have been deceived,” the protesters said.
