Poll boycott call, pro-freedom slogans —prosecution against Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi sanctioned

Srinagar, December 25, 2019: Indian authorities gave sanction for prosecution of jailed leader, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chief, Aasiya Andrabi on the charges of raising anti-India slogans and asking people to boycott the election drama, frequently staged by India in the territory. The cases were registered in 2010 and 2018 under the draconian law, Unlawful Activities Act. Muhammad Yasin, Asiya Andrabi , Faheeda Sofi and Nahida Nasreen are detained in Indian Tihar Jails since long time.
Indian authorities have given sanction to prosecute Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chief, Aasiya Andrabi for raising anti-India slogans, pro-freedom and asking people to boycott panchayat elections.
 The cases were registered in 2010 and 2018 under the draconian law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. The Indian home department has given its go-ahead for prosecution of Yasin Malik and Aasiya Andrabi respectively in cases dating back to 2010 and 2018.
 JKLF chairman was booked under the law in 2010 for raising anti-India slogans at Sadder Koot Bala of Sumbal area of Bandipora.
 “During the course of investigation, it was revealed that chairman of JKLF, has raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans at main chowk S.K.Bala in front of people who were coming out of Masjid after offering Friday prayers, ...” claims notification issued by the Indian Home department on December 6, 2019. 
In another notification, the authorities accorded sanction for prosecution of Aasiya Andrabi and her close associates Nahida Nasreen and Fahmeeda Sofi on the charge of advocating boycott of Urban Local Body and Panchayat polls in 2018.
The case was registered against them after police received information that Asiya and Fahmeeda advocating election boycott of forthcoming ULB/Panchayat elections-2018.sources
