Indian troops during military CASOs arrest six more in Poonch-Rajouri

 Srinagar, Oct 19, 2021: Indian troops  detained six more persons for in Bhatta Durrian in Mandhar area of Poonch district. They have been identified as Mohammad Mahroof son of Bhag Hussain and Abdul Hamid son of Furqan, both residents of Sangiot, Mir Hussain son of Dost Mohammad of village Chandial, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Mushtaq and Khurshid Mohammad, all residents of Bhatta Durrian.A day before, police had detained mother-son duo including Zareen Akhter and Shafait Mohammad on the same charges. With six more detentions, total number of civilians detained has gone up to eight.

Meanwhile, the Indian troops continued their violent military cordon and search operations on 9th consecutive day, today, in Poonch and Rajouri districts in Pir Panjal valley.
The Indian troops along with paramilitary forces continued their operations in Mendhar , Thanamundi, Surankote areas of the districts admit with heavy firing continued in the area throughout the day. The Indian troops area using heavy calibre weapons, resulting in explosions which are rattling the entire area. For the past days, we’ve been hearing big explosions from the area. These explosions have rattled the entire area,” said locals in the Bhata Dhurian area of the Poonch district.
Officials talking to media men claimed that the encounter in the area continued on Monday also as dense forest cover in Nar Khas and Bhata Dhurian remained under tight cordon of army, paramilitary and police personnel. The officials further claimed that heavy gunfire started on Monday afternoon. It was on till late evening. The officials suspected that there was a militant hideout in the area and the militants could be hiding in it.
The Highway 144-A continued to remain also closed between Bhimber Gali (BG) and Jarran Wali which affected vehicular traffic to Surankote and Poonch district headquarters added fear and miseries among the people of the areas.
On the other hand, besides heavy deployment of Indian troops and paramilitary and other agencies including Indian National Investigation Agency (NIA), Intelligence Bureau (IB) in civic across Kashmir valley, stringent security arrangements have been put in place in Srinagar and elsewhere in Kashmir valley to stop people from protests against the custodial killing of youth and continued Indian state terrorism in the valley.
In Srinagar city, joint parties of Indian troops, paramilitary and police forces have set up more nakas at several places and were seen carrying out random frisking of women, youth,  pedestrians and vehicles .
Besides, the CCTV surveillance has also been updated and movement in city is being monitored closely.“We have set up makeshift checkpoints at various places in Srinagar and also on the highways,” a senior police officer said. 
The officer said that there have also been speculative Cordon and search operations in parts of Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Indian Army chief Gen Manoj Mukund Naravane reached  and visited Poonch and Rajouri districts and reviewed situation visited several forward areas.
