Lucknow, April 13 Indian police killed a Muslim politician Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad and Ghulam in BJP ruled Indian state Uttar Pradesh Police . The two Muslims were killed in a fake encounter by the Indian UP STF team in Jhansi city of the state.
Earlier in the day, the victims father Atiq Ahmed and his brother who in jail were produced before a court in UP’s Prayagraj on Thursday in connection with the same murder case.
While Atiq Ahmed was brought to Prayagraj via road from Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat state for his production, his brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf was brought from a Bareilly jail UP.
Indian police has involved them the killing of one Umesh Pal, a key witness in the 2005 murder case of then BSP MLA Raju Pal, and his two police security guards whowere shot dead outside his home in Prayagraj’s Dhoomanganj area on February 24 this year.
Meanwhile, the Indian political parties including Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party have demanded a through investigation into the killing of thepolitician Atiq Ahmad's son Asad in Jhansi on Thursday, adding that it is a fake encounter.
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh was trying to divert attention from real issues with "fake encounters".
"By doing fake encounters, the BJP government is trying to divert attention from real issues. The BJP does not believe in courts at all. Today's and other recent encounters should be thoroughly investigated and the culprits should not be spared. The government does not have the right to decide what is right or wrong. The BJP is against brotherhood," Yadav tweeted in Hindi.
Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati said the killing could be a repeat of "Vikas Dubey incident".
Mayawati said in a tweet that many types of discussions are happening on the Jhansi encounter.
"People feel their apprehension of a repeat of the Vikas Dubey incident has come true. Therefore, a high-level inquiry is necessary so that the complete facts and truth of the incident can come before the public," she added.
