Srinagar, March 17 : Indian police arrested over a dozen youth in Srinagar, in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Indian police during house raids arrested over a dozen youth at Nowgam area of Srinagar. The arrested youth were involved in protest against the killing of three youth martyred by Indian troops yesterday during cordon and search operation in the area, the police FIR claimed.The police registered FIR on them in Police Station Nowgam.
On the other hand, the Jammu district recorded the hottest day of the season at 35 degrees Celsius – nine notches above the normal for this part of the season. The Srinagar also recorded a high of 25.4 degrees Celsius which is 10.7 degrees above the normal, a spokesperson of the Meteorological department said.The official said Katra, the base camp for the Hindu pilgrims visiting Vaishno Devi shrine, was reeling at a maximum of 32.6 degrees Celsius. He said the town in Reasi district recorded the minimum temperature of 18.2 degrees Celsius, which was the highest in any recorded place in the Territory.
The minimum temperature in Jammu was recorded at 16.8 degrees Celsius, 2.8 notches above normal, while Banihal town in Ramban district recorded a low of 14.2 degrees Celsius which was 10 degrees above normal.
Srinagar recorded a minimum of 7.9 degrees Celsius, which was 3.7 notches above the normal.
Bhaderwah town in Doda district recorded a maximum of 30.4 degrees Celsius, surpassing the previous high of 30 degrees Celsius on March 31, 2018.
The rising temperature over the past few days, especially in the snow-bound areas, has caused early melting of the snow causing concern among the people, especially the agriculturists who fear water shortage in the coming months.
