Srinagar, July 14: Indian police arrested over a dozen youth in Baramulla , Islamabad and Kulgam districts. The Personnel Security Officer (PSO) of National Conference leader Syed Tawqeer Shah was killed in an attack in Islamabad district while three persons were injured in separate blasts in Kashmir valley. The police arrested seven youth, Aadil Ahmed War, Shahnawaz Ahmed War, Zahoor Ahmed War, Tariq Ahmed War, Irfan Ahmed Malik, Irshad Ahmed Malik and Tawheed Ahmed Lone, during house raids in Sopore and Rafiabad areas of Baramulla district. The police arrested three other youth, Amir, Qaisar and Irfan during house raids in Islamabad town. At least five youth were detained during the nocturnal raids in Zazripora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Locals saidd that forces raided the locality on late Friday night and detained at least five youth from their respective houses.
The forces, they said, barged into the houses of youth, creating panic in the entire area, and detained five youth including two brothers. Some of the arrested youth have been identified as Zubair Mohuddin, Junaid Ahmed Bhat, Aaqib Ahmed, all residents of Zazripora area in Kulgam.
A body of a middle-aged man was found in an orchard in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.
Media reports said that a 45-year-old man identified as Muhammad Amin Dar, son of Ali Muhammad Dar was found dead in an orchard near Aglar village of the district.
Meanwhile, police have taken the cognizance of the incident and further investigations have been taken up.

An 8-year-old student was injured after he was deliberately hit by an Indian Army vehicle in Ganderbal district. The boy, Fridous Ahmed Sheikh, sustained injuries after being hit by an army vehicle – part of the army convoy – when he was on way to his school in Kunan Gund area of the district. Following the incident, the Indian army vehicle fled from the spot.
The injured student was taken to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Kunan by the locals where from he was referred to Sub-District Hospital Kangan for further treatment.
A youth was critically injured in a mysterious blast in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on July 12 Friday. The youth identified as Javaid Ahmed Dar, a resident of Zasov area of Pulwama, was collecting waste material near a dumping site when the explosion took place. He was shifted to district hospital Pulwama for treatment where from he was referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.

The Indian army has asked the residents of Pulwama district of southern Kashmir to submit vehicle registration documents along with the vehicle owner’s photograph at the local army camps.
A senior army official told media that the documents of all vehicles should be complete. There should be no unidentified vehicle whose registration number and registration papers don’t match, he said.
