Chakradharpur, August 29: An Indian Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) trooper committed suicide in Indian state Jharkhand. The CRPF 60 Battalion trooper Ajit Kumar Pathak shot himself dead from his service AK-47 assault rifle at Chakradharpur city of the state. He shot himself in the forehead and died immediately.
The sound of gunfire created panic in the camp premises. All the soldiers present in the camp started running in the direction from which the sound of firing came. On reaching the spot, the troops saw that the dead body of Ajit Kumar Pathak was lying on the floor. Without delay, he was brought to Chakradharpur sub-divisional hospital where doctors declared him dead.
After receiving information about the incident, the police of Toklo police station have confiscated AK 47 and mobile of CRPF man. The matter is being investigated. Ajit Kumar Pathak was reinstated in CRPF in the year 2004. After this, in the year 2019, he was transferred to the CRPF 60 Battalion located at Chakradharpur Asantalia.
