Srinagar, December 28 :An Indian Border Security Force (BSF) soldier committed suicide by shooting himself in Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir .The Indian soldier identified as constable PK Dass shot himself dead with his service rifle at a camp in in Mendhar area of the district, officials said. The reason behind him taking such an extreme step was not known immediately, the officials said.
An Indian Military Intelligence (MI) hut was gutted in fire in the world famous ski resort of Gulmarg in Baramulla district.The hut was completely damaged though no one was injured in the incident. “The cause of the fire was not immediately known, the Indian official said, adding a case has been registered and investigation has been taken up to ascertain the cause of the incident.

Meanwhile, body of a resident of Nagrota area of Jammu Ajay Kapoor was found under mysterious circumstances near Pandit Migrant Colony in Weervan area of Baramulla district.
Meanwhile, On Sunday recorded 260 fresh coronavirus cases, raising the tally to 1,20,137, while two more deaths pushed the fatality count to 1,869, officials said.
Of the fresh cases, 119 were reported from Kashmir and 141 from the Jammu region, the medical sources said.
The Medical officials said Jammu recorded the highest of 93 cases, followed by 69 in Srinagar district.
There are now 3,282 cases in the territory, while 1,14,986 patients have recovered so far, they said.
The two COVID-19 deaths — one each from Jammu and Kashmir in the past 24 hours, the officials said.
