Jammu, April 02 : An Indian Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Border Security Force (BSF) died of a bullet injury from his own service rifle in Kathua district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Reports said the BSF officer committed suicide in the camp.
The Indian BSF ASI, Sukhnandan Prasad, died of a bullet injury from his own service rifle near an Indian army post in the district of Jammu region on Sunday, officials said.
Traffic movement was disrupted on Srinagar-Jammu Highway due to Intermittent shooting stones at the mouth of the newly constructed Panthyal tunnel.
According to Kashmir Media Service, officials said on Sunday that traffic was halted on either side of the highway and no vehicle was allowed to cross the Panthyal tunnel in wake of shooting stones.
A blast took place in a car on Boulevard road in Srinagar on Sunday.
An elderly couple was in the vehicle at the time of the explosion. They are residents of Kral Sangri Nishat in Srinagar.
Both are reported to be safe. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter. "Prima facie the blast looks like some equipment failure," police said.
No casualties have been reported in the blast so far. The exact cause of the explosion is yet to be known. More details are awaited.

On the other hand, an Indian army vehicle suffered a damage in shooting of stones from a hillock near the recently opened T-5 tunnel on the Jammu-Srinagar highway on Sunday but no personnel were injured, officials said.
An Indian army convoy was moving through the tunnel when the rocks started coming down from the hillock, resulting in damage to one of the luxury vehicles.
However, all its occupants escaped unhurt, the officer added.
