Indian army man booked for raping girl in Udhampur

JAMMU, July 16, 2014: On the direction of Court, police today booked an Indian army man for raping a girl after luring her on the pretext of marriage in Gangyal area in Jammu.
 As per police sources, the victim, a resident of Ramnagar, district Udhampur came in contact with Indian army man identified as Sachin Chadda of Madhya Pradesh India. Indian trooper on the pretext of marrying the girl raped her.
 The girl came to know that the accused is already married and then she approached the Court seeking action against the accused, they added.
Court passed the direction to SSP Jammu to register a case under Sections 420 and 376 of RPC against the Indian army man in Gangyal police station and start investigation. (source daily excelsior)
 
Man booked for attempt to rape in Shopian Kashmir
Srinagar,: Wednesday, 16 July 2014 : Police on Wednesday registered a case against a man in Shopian after a woman alleged that he tried to rape her.
Police sources said the woman said that Muhammad Ashraf Dar of Kashwa Zainpora tried to rape her when she was in a field. “He tore my clothes and tried to rape me,” police sources, while quoting the woman, said. Sources said the woman approached police and accordingly they have registered a case under FIR number 49 under section 341 and 354 RPC.
