Elderly man crushed to death by moving train in Pulwama, 3 students go missing in Kupwara

 SRINAGAR, July 20 :An elderly man was crushed to death after being hit by a train in south Kashmir Pulwama district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. One Mohammad Afzal  was hit by a moving train near his native village, near Panzgam-Bijbehara section resulting in his on-spot death on Wednesday. He said that the body was later shifted by railway police to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.  
 


Meanwhile, three students from north Kashmir’s Kupwara district have gone missing and their families have appealed them to return home. The ffamilies of the three students namely  8th class  student Irfan Mushtaq Wani , 12th class student Nasir Fayaz Dar  and 11th class student Bilal Ahmad Dar said that the trio left their respectively homes for school on July 18 and did not return back since then.
We lodged a missing report at Hatmulla police station,” Mushtaq Ahmad, father of Irfan Mushtaq, told media men over phone.He said Irfan’s mother has been crying weeping as she and other family members are worried about the son.We appeal Kupwara police authority to intervene and see that they return home without any harm.
A police officer confirmed  that the missing report has been filed with the concerned police station. 
Body of a 34-year-old Shameem Ali Nath who was missing almost two weeks before, from his home  in Chattabal in Srinagar  was found from river Jhelum in Srinagar.
After failing to find him, the family lodged a missing report at the nearest police station after five days. “A body was spotted by some passersby inside river Jhelum at Malpora, following which a police team reached the site and retrieved the body and it came out to be of Shameem Ali Nath,”  police said adding the body was taken by the police team into its possession for necessary medico-legal formalities. 
Meanwhile, Indian troops during cordon and search operations arrested several youth in north and south Kashmir .
Aamid a spike in Covid cases, the administration has made face masks mandatory in three districts of the territory.
The number for active Covid cases area active in Srinagar  and  Jammu  districts.
According to officials, wearing of face masks has been made compulsory in Srinagar, Ganderbal and Bandipora districts in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19, they said.
