New Delhi, April 05: The curfew was extended till April in Karauli district of Indian state Rajisthan. According to Kashmir Media Service, the state government ordered extension of curfew in Karauli till April 7 and also imposed section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in Karauli district of Rajasthan.
The internet was also shut down in the district. The curfew was imposed in after communal tensions when the Hindutva Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bajrang Dal, started arson, vandalism, pelted stones on Muslim houses and burnt shops, properties and bikes in the area on Saturday.
Rajasthan Congress on Monday formed a three-member fact-finding committee over the Karauli incident. The Committee includes MLAs Jitendra Singh and Rafiq Khan and Karauli district in-charge Lalit Yadav. The panel will visit Karauli and submit its report to Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee.
