Allahabad Court Grants Bail to Islamic scholar Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui

New Delhi, April 5  The prominent Islamic scholar Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui was granted bail by the Allahabad High Court  in India on Wednesday.The Islamic scholar, behind bars for over 500 days, was arrested under the anti-conversion law by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (UP ATS) in September 2021.

 
Advocate S.M. Rehman Faiz, Brij Mohan Sahai and Zia-Ul Qayum Jilani appeared and argued in the bail hearing for Maulana Siddiqui.
Maulana Siddiqui is a well-known propagator from Phulat, Uttar Pradesh. He is also president of the Global Peace Center and Jamia Imam Waliullah Trust.
 
The UP ATS falesly blamed him of engaging in the propagation of Islam and forcefully converting people.
 
The other Muslim scholar Maulana Umar Gautam and Mufti Qazi Jahangir Quasmi are still under arrest and languishing in jail under the same fake case of anti-conversion law since June 2021.
