Lucknow, October 16, 2022 : Amid the ongoing attacks on the Muslim community, a Muslim identified as 50-year-old Dawood Ali Tyagi was attacked by a Hindutva RSS, BJP and Banjrandal mob in Vinaipur in Indian state Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat district.
According to the report, Around 20 men reportedly charged at Tyagi with sticks and sharp objects late at night, inflicting fatal injuries upon him. Four arrests have been made in the case so far and investigation is ongoing.
However, Tyagi’s family said that the attack was not random and that it was, in fact, a targeted crime aimed at instilling fear in Muslims. Tyagi, a farmer, lived in Vinaipur with his wife and daughter while his three sons live study in Delhi.
“My father was sat on the porch of the house chatting with our relatives. At around 10 pm, a group of 22 men on about seven or eight bikes arrived,” his son told The wire. Then, he was attacked with sharp weapons; chain sockets latched onto sticks, They attacked my father on his head and he also suffered three separate injuries on his hand. They fired on my cousins too, however, since they were much younger, my cousins escaped.”
“As they attacked him, they were raising the slogan of ‘Jai Shri Ram’,” Shahrukh said.
After the attack, Tyagi was taken to the Family Health Hospital in Meerut for treatment. However, in the wee hours of the morning, he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad, India stones were pelted on the vehicles of two ministers at Visakhapatnam airport by the activists of Jana Sena.
The two ministers were returning after participating in the rally – Visakha Garjana – held in support of the three-capital plan of Andhra Pradesh government.
A large number of Jana Sena fans had gathered at Vizag airport to greet Telugu star and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, who is on a three-day trip to Vizag. Earlier in the day, the ministers had verbally attacked Kalyan for not supporting the government’s plan to declare Vizag as the state’s capital.
The cars of ministers – RK Roja and Jogi Ramesh – were attacked along with that of the TTD chairman YV Subba Reddy. All of them had to be rescued by the police in the ruckus created by Jana Sena activists. The police used mild force to control the situation.
On the other hand, in its move to harm Muslims economically, the Hindu Mahasabha has warned the Muslim youth of serious consequences if they found applying ‘Mehandi’ on the hands of Hindu women on the occasion of Hindu festival.
Traditionally, Hindu women apply mehendi on their hands before the Karwa Chauth puja which is being held on tonight (Thursday night).
Bharatiya Janata Party’s Member of state Legislative Assembly from Khatauli, Vikram Saini has said, my request to Hindu women is to apply mehendi at home or from shops and beauty parlours opened by our community members. Saini was awarded two years’ imprisonment by the court on Tuesday in a case linked to the 2013 anti-Muslim riots in Muzaffarnagar.
Meanwhile, the Hindutva group Vishwa Hindu Parishad has opened Mehendi stalls and tasked its members to ensure that Muslim male make-up artists do not apply mehendi or henna to Hindu women. They are also verifying the details of the Mehendi artists by checking their Aadhar card
