Srinagar, September 09, 2011: An administrative member which is called a village head or Sarpanch sponsored by the authority in Kashmir and a police man who are also enjoying black laws and a policeman disgraced, molested and attempted to rape a teenage girl in Uri town of Baramulla district.
The shocking incident surfaced on September 9, 2011 when the Sarpanch (village head), Raja Ghulam Mohammad Khan, along with a policeman, and some goons intercepted the girl, a class 11 student, when she was heading for school, eyewitnesses said.
“They ruthlessly beat her up and tried to outrage her modesty after tearing her clothes. However, as the girl raised alarm, people assembled and saved her from their clutches,” the eyewitnesses told media men
The girl was rushed to Sub- District Hospital Boniyar in Baramulla from where she was referred to Sub-District Hospital Baramulla.
Meanwhile, people staged a massive demonstration and marched in buses and trucks towards the Police Station Boniyar to register their protest.
Following the protests, police arrested the Sarpanch and policeman Khursheed Ahmad son of Abdul Majid Khan.
A police spokesman confirmed the arrest and said that a case under FIR number 46/2011 under section 147, 354, 341, 376/511 RPC has been registered against the accused.
He said that hunt has been launched to arrest other accused including another brother of Sarpanch, Parveez Ahmad Khan, his son and daughter Sajid Ahmed Khan and Hassena Akhter.
Mohammad Younis Khan, father of the girl, said “I had never imagined that the man will stoop such low”. source KDNN
