Uzbek woman found dead in Indian city Bengaluru hotel

 Bengaluru, March 15:A 37-year-old Uzbek woman was found dead in her hotel room in Bengaluru city of south India. The 37-year-old  Uzbekistan woman Zareen, was found dead in her hotel room in hotel in the city's Seshadripuram area. The woman, had arrived in Bengaluru on March 5. 

Police said the hotel staff had knocked on the door, but there was no response. The staff then used a master key to open the door and found Zareen dead.
Shekhar HT, DCP, Bengaluru Central, said the police suspect that she was smothered. The victim's body was sent to Bowring Hospital for a post-mortem, he said."Zareen was found dead in a room at a hotel. She was probably smothered. As of now, we know she was alone at the time of the incident," the DCP added. A forensic team, police and a dog squad arrived at Zareen's room for investigation.
A case of mysterious death was registered based on the hotel manager's complaint. Police were also investigating the CCTV footage and hotel register. When asked whether she had arrived on a visa or overstayed, Shekhar HT, the DCP, said the police would investigate her passport.
Indian Army Major, 16 personnel’s attacked in Punjab 
Chandigarh, Mar 15 : An Indian Army Major and 16 troops were assaulted and injured in a clash with the civilians in Punjab state in India.
An Indian Army Major and 16 troops were reportedly assaulted by the owner and workers of a roadside eatery (dhaba) on the Manali-Ropar road in Punjab.
Indian Police have arrested four people, including the eatery owner and the manager, and are searching for others involved in the attack.
The incident occurred when Indian army Major Sachin Singh Kuntal of the Ladakh Scouts and along with other troops were returning from Manali, after winning the Snow Marathon held in Lahaul.
There was an argument between the Dhaba owner and people with Indian troops at the 'Alpine dhaba' near Bharatgarh in Ropar district. An argument broke out between them when the owner told them to pay for food while the Indian troops avoided and insisted payment through UPI. 
The people attacked the Indian army officer and other troops. They were allegedly punched and beaten with sticks and iron rods. The Indian army Major received injuries to his hands and head and fainted, while the attackers fled the scene.
