Several injured in Indian forces violent actions during massive operations in Shopian, Pulwama, Friday prayers disallowed in Jamia Masjid Srinagar

 Srinagar, September 22, 2018:  Several people were injured after Indian forces  used brute force and fired shells on youth during  protest against the cordon and search operation launched by the Indian forces in Shopian and Pulwama areas. Several people were injured in Indian forces personnel actions in Shirmal area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, today.
Locals told media that a joint team of Indian army, police and paramilitary personnel besieged the area and started door-to-door searches early in the morning.
People took to the streets and staged forceful demonstrations against the operation. The police and troops fired pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel.


 Indian forces launched a massive cordon and search operations in Lassipora, Armula, Alaipora, Batnur, Garbug, Naupora Payeen, Hajdarpora and Acchan  areas of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, today.
The door-to-door searches causing fear and harassment  in the district.
Complete shutdown is being observed in north Kashmir’s Bandipora town for the second consecutive day, today, against the killing of five youth during shoot out operation by Indian forces.
All educational institutions including schools and colleges were closed while internet services also remain suspended in the area since Thursday.
On September 21, In Sriangar, Indian paramilitary forces and  police personnel arrested scores of Muharram mourners when they tried to take out an Ashura procession in Lal Chowk area of Srinagar,  Earlier, the authorities imposed curfew-like restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from taking out processions in connection with the Aashura.
Since 1989, the occupation authorities have not allowed the processions of 8th and 10th Muharram in connection with the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) – the grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) – and his companions in Karbala.
