Srinagar, Jan 18, 2022: A joint team of Indian Army and Special Operation Group have launched Cordon and Search Operations and beefed up security ahead of Indian Republic Day in Poonch district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Ahead of Indian Republic Day, the vigil along the Line of Control has been heightened and as a part of this, CASO was launched in Poonch and Mendhar belts, said a senior police officer.The searches were also continued in different areas of Samba and Ramban districts and close to the LoC areas. Indian army soldier and a police man died in Kupwara and Baramulla districts.
An Indian solider identified as Lance Naik ( 26-year-old )died after he was hospitalised for vomiting in Rajwar-Handwara area of the Kupwara district, officials said.
The officials told media men the the lance Naik, was found unconscious at its unit , following vomiting. He was moved to Military Hospital and after around 45 minutes he was subsequently declared dead, they said.The deceased, they said, belonged to Indian city Alipur Gurugram in Haryana .

Meanwhile,the attackers hurled a grenade on Police Control room in Batamalo area of Srinagar district on Monday evening. A top Police officer told media that In this incident no one was injured so far as per the reports.
