Srinagar, Nov 17, 2019: The authorities of Jammu and Kashmir which is under presidential rule will impose ban on parking of any vehicles on the airport road in Srinagar.
Media reports quoting sources said following alerts from the intelligence agencies, the authorities have picked up the issue of banning parking of vehicles on the eight kilometer stretch between the Srinagar International Airport and Ram Bagh area of the city.
The reports quoting Official sources said since the abrogation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019, the roadside parking on the Airport Road had become a major cause of traffic jams on this VIP route.
"There have been instances where the VIPs had to get stranded in jams that were caused by nothing but the roadside parking of vehicles," said a senior police official on the condition of anonymity.
