Indian forces arrest two youth in Sopore, Tral areas

Srinagar, December 23, 2019 : Indian forces and police personnel  arrested two youth in Sopore and Tral towns. Indian Army’s 22 Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operation Group arrested Sadam Ahmed Mir of Brath in Janwara area of Sopore .
SSP Sopore Javeed Iqbal while confirmg  the arrest claimed that Sadam Ahmed Mir of Brath was apprehended during joint operation and one pistol was recovered from his prosession. Officer said that a case in this regard has registered and further investigation has been initiated. 
Police arrested another Kashmiri identified as Rasiq Maqbool Sheikh, a resident of Pastoona village, was arrested in Tral area. A police official claimed that the detained person was  allegedly involved in providing logistic support to the active militants (Muhaideen) operating in Tral belt of Pulwama district. 
Meanwhile, two police personnel were injured in firing at Filter Plant police post in Simna Colony near Kishtwar town late tonight.Reports said that some suspects opened firing at Filter Plant police post at 10.05 pm. However, two police personnel were injured in the firing. They have been identified as Mohammad Saleem and Ajay Kumar.
Additional police and paramilitary personnel were rushed to the spot.
