Poonch, March 7, 2012: An Indian trooper of Territorial Army went berserk in Poonch town of Jammu and Kashmir and killed two women and injured two others on Wednesday.
The trooper working with Rashtriya Rifles (RR) of the 168 battalion of the Territorial Army (TA), in Mendhar belt of the poonch district, identified as Tariq Ahmed who firstly set his house on fire and fired indiscriminately from his service rifle, a senior police official told media men
The victims included Yasmeen and Shahra Begum. Two women were killed and two others were injured in the firing, the official said. Ahmed has been arrested and will be tried under a criminal case, the official added.
The injured have been shifted to the government hospital, where doctors have described their condition as critical. "We have started the investigation, the reason for the firing is yet to be ascertained," a police sources said.
