India of using excessive force, indiscriminate use of force in Kashmir: US Human Rights group

Washington Dec 7, 2016: Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) has said that Indian force used excessive and indiscriminate force against protesters . The Indian forces police and Central Reserve Police Force used weapons like pellet guns in Kashmir this year, resulting in injuries and deaths.
The US-based health rights group has said the excessive and indiscriminate use of force against protesters by Indian police and Central Reserve Police Force with weapons misleadingly represented as “less than lethal”.In its report, that was released yesterday, it said, “While Indian authorities claimed that the use of these weapons was meant to reduce the potential for injuries or fatalities, PHR researchers found that their use had in fact, caused serious injury and deaths.”
Besides, the report said that Indian forces of using intimidation tactics against medical workers attempting to treat the injured.
