CRPF trooper booked for harassing woman in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 21, 2014: An Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force trooper harassed and forcing a woman to marry her daughter with him, said a complaint against him in Shopian district.  
Jammu and Kashmir police have registered harassment and intimidation case against a paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force trooper after a woman from India's Orissa filed a complaint against him in south Kashmiris Shopian district.  
A police official said here that they have taken cognizance of a complaint of harassment and intimidation by a woman presently living in from Reshnagri against a CRPF man Rahim Khan. 
"A woman whose mother hails from Pankal in Cuttack district of Indias Orissa has said that trooper resident of the same village of harassing and forcing her daughter to marry him," he said. A case FIR no. 24/2014 was registered in Police Station Herpora and investigation was taken up.  During preliminary investigations it surfaced that the woman was in contact with Khan since 2011 and has lodged a similar complaint in police station, Tigiria Cuttack, Orissa under FIR no. 19/2014 under section 294,506,420, 34/ IPC.
The a police statement on Wednesday while giving details said that a lady whose mother hails from village Pankal of Cuttack District of Orissa has accused a CRPF man Rahim Khan son of Isaaq Khan resident of the same village that of harassing and forcing her to marry. “Accordingly a case FIR no. 24/2014 was registered in Police Station Herpora and investigation was taken up,” police said.
