Srinagar, January 26 : Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world are observing Indian Republic Day, today, as Black Day in protest against India’s continued illegal occupation and denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. Call for the observance of the Civil curfew and Black Day was given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Masrrat Alam Bhat, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Shabir Ahmad Shah, JKLF and other Hurriyat leaders and parties. The day is marked with as civil curfew and black day in occupied Kashmir and anti-India demonstrations and rallies in AJK and in world capitals.The authorities also suspended internet and mobile services in all areas of the territory till 3PMIST.
This year, the observance of the Black Day and civil cufew is also aimed at registering protest against the continued military and police siege and lockdown of occupied Kashmir imposed by Indian government since August 5, 2019.
Meanwhile, restrictions and stringent measures in the name of security have been taking on the India’s Republic Day, today, brining more miseries to the already besieged people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir while Indian troops and police personnel have intensified checking, operations and frisking in Srinagar city and other parts of the territory.
The Indian troops, paramilitary and police personnel have been deployed in strength all around the territory and restricted the daily life of people and to keep a watch on the activities of people. The forces’ personnel have set up check points on every road and chowks.
In Srinagar, all roads leading towards a Srinagar stadium, where the main official function of 26th January was scheduled was sealed with barbed wire and barricades have been erected around the stadium. Unprecedented arrangements , drones, cameras and shooters have been made in and around the stadium.
A close vigil was being maintained on all vehicles and pedestrians entering the city can be seen carrying out surprise checking of the vehicles by Indian forces on the entry and exit points in Srinagar and Jammu areas.
Kashmiris including political, civil society and common masses talking to media men said that India should immediately vacate illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir as Kashmiris demanding right to self determination as promised in UN resolutions.
Kashmiris stick to their stand and remind the the United Nations that Jammu and Kashmir is illegally occupied by India and urge the world peace and democratic bodies to compel India to vacate its illegally occupation of territory by recalling its armed forces from Indian illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir (IIOJK), the added.
The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions be implemented that India has been globally recognised as the sponsor of Hindutva and military terrorism and some of the most horrific terror attacks on minorities in India and people of IIOJK and to its neighbouring countries, they said .
People of Jammu and Kashmir are, and will always reject Indian illegal occupation and its forces illegal presence in the internationally recognised disputed territory, the stressed..
