28-year old Mohammad Rafiq Gujjar killed, another injured in Indian army firing in Ramban

Srinagar,  Aug 5 2018: A 28-year old Mohammad Rafiq Gujjar was killed and another identified  as Shakeel Ahmad were injured in  Indian armys 58 Rashtriya Rifles firing in Ramban district.  Mohammad Shafi Gujjar was killed and another person identified as Shakeel Ahmad was injured when Indian army personnel of 58 Rashtriya Rifles opened fire upon them in Kohli village of area of Gool tehsil in  Ramban on Saturday night, SSP Ramban Mohan Lal told media men. He said the injured youth was removed to the hospital for treatment. “We have filed a case and started investigations in this regard,” Lal said.
SSP Ramban Mohan Lal said an FIR has been registered against 58 RR of the army at Dharamkund police station. “Further investigation is on,” he said.
Mohammad Rafiq Gujjar (28) and Shakeel Ahmad (30), both residents of Gool, were  fired upon by soldiers of the 58 Rashtriya Rifles when they were leaving Kohli village around 4 am, a police official said. 
He said while Gujjar died on the spot, Ahmad was injured in the firing and was shifted to district hospital Ramban for treatment. However, locals said that they heard gunshots in the area at 11 pm last night.
Both the persons, according to locals, were engaged in cattle trade.
SSP Ramban Mohan Lal said an FIR has been registered against 58 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian army at Dharamkund police station. 
Meanwhile,  body of Mukhtar Ahmad Lone of Khalhar Kokernag was found dead in Rohpora village in Rohpora area of Khudwani in Qaimoh tehsil of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.
