16 Killed As Passenger Vehicle Falls Into Gorge In Doda

Srinagar, November 12, 2019 : Sixteen people were killed and four more were injured on Tuesday when a passenger vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Doda district, police said. 
The accident took place near the Marmat area of the hilly district, Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, Mumtaz Ahmad told PTI.  Two children were among those killed in the accident, the officer said. The injured were rescued and admitted to hospital, he said.  

The deceased were identified as Irshad Ahmed, son of Abdul Majid of village Mangota, his baby, Firdous, son of Noor Mohammad of village Mangota, his son, Tabraiz, son of Mohammad Shokeen of village Mangota, Nasir, son of Irshad of village Mangota, Sameer, son of Abdul Wahid of village Mangota. Naseer, son of Ali Jaan of village Mangota, Jabina, wife of Mohammad Irshad of village Mangota, Tanveera, wife of Taimoor Ahmed of village Mangota, her two children, Rubiya, wife of Firdous Ahmed of village Mangota, Fiaz Mohammad, son of Rustam Wani of village Mangota, at present Dhansal in district Udhampur, his wife Shakoora Begum and Amina, wife of Mohammad Sayeed of village Mangota.
The lone survivor has been identified as Taimoor, son of Mohammad Akram Wani of village Mangota.
 

Police Officials said the vehicle was headed for Gowa village of Marmat from Kleeni when the driver lost control while negotiating a blind curve and the vehicle fell into the gorge around 3.25 pm. agencies
